About ME
My name is Domenick Barker
I grew up working: stacking firewood, fixing what we had, and running farm equipment. Early on I handled large-scale property maintenance for big-box stores; it taught logistics, pace, and showing up. The Marine Corps taught me that complacency kills; I keep my head on a swivel, check twice, act, adjust, and take responsibility. In tractor sales I listened to the job a customer needed done, matched it to the machine that would do it, and taught them to run it. That left me fluent with equipment; rented or owned, I bring the right tool and run it carefully. On hardscape crews I saw the cost when what was sold and what was built drifted apart. I learned the difference between work that looks finished and work that stays finished. I started my own business, Praxis Landscaping, so I could take responsibility for that standard from first conversation to final cleanup.

Praxis Landscaping
The word praxis means knowledge put into action, and taking responsibility for the result. I chose the name because this is a vocation to me, not a slot on a timesheet. It means work done with care and accountability. I take pride in my job site while I work so you can enjoy your temple for years to come. If you call me later, it will be for the next project.

Praxis Landscaping is an owner-operated hardscape business. The person you meet is the person who shows up, builds, and signs off. There is no handoff to middle management I keep a few projects in motion at once so I can stay with the work from layout to cleanup. You get one set of eyes and one set of standards the whole way through.

Before we start, I walk the site with you and make sure we are talking about the same thing. As we build, decisions stay in the open. You will always have my number. Call or text when you need me, and I’ll keep you posted so you never have to chase me.
The heart of the job is not only the stone you see but the choices you do not see. I look at the ground, how water moves, the use and traffic the surface will take, and how the edges will hold. I take the steps that prevent trouble later, and I also say when a step is extra. If you ever think I am adding work for its own sake, ask if we are putting a hat on a hat. I will either show you why it matters or take it off the list.
New Hampshire seasons are real. I plan around weather and give start and finish windows that make sense. I do not overbook. The schedule is honest and the pace is steady. That is how the project stays on schedule and under control.
That is what I mean by Praxis: principle in action.
